In this latest Monthly Market Commentary titled ‘Challenges and Opportunities in May’, Raymond James’ European Strategist, Chris Bailey, highlights that while spring continues to warm up, both the equity and bond markets in May have left investors feeling a little frosty, both at home and across the pond.
In contrast, the dollar has strengthened in recent weeks due to heightened geopolitical concerns and recent interest rate increases by the Federal Reserve. Despite a number of uncertainties surrounding the global economy, the corporate earnings results and outlook statements produced in recent weeks have not been uniformly negative.
